We’ve developed a plan, in partnership with Birmingham 2022 and local authorities across the West Midlands, which explains how we hope to help deliver a truly unforgettable Games. A key focus of the draft plan, known as the ‘Games Strategic Transport Plan’ is to make sure residents and businesses in the West Midlands can continue to get from A to B while over 1 million visitors and more than 12,000 athletes, officials, and international media make their way around the region to training and competition venues.
The draft plan covers things like how we will plan transport, outlines how extra capacity will be built into the network and provides information about the transport projects we are accelerating in time for the Games, in order to help us move thousands of extra people around our transport network.
